This is the 2006 Re-master of this classic film. Not only has the footage been painstakingly restored from its original format; tape. But its a whole minute and a half longer, making the films pacing even more enjoyable.

However arguably the best addition to the 2006 Redux, is the all important inclusion of the 1980's soundtrack and general stylistic changes that help us buy into the immense universe that the filmmakers had painstakingly laid out before us. What would Star wars be like without George Lucas's special editions or ET if Steven Speilberg hadn't removed those all important guns and replaced them with walkie talkies.

Other new improvements include the epic choir employed in the new opening score (Courtesy of the London Philharmonic Orchestra - who performed free of charge out of sheer admiration for the film) And lets not forget that extra 30 seconds of phone call to Pete at the beginning of the film - all of which show new side to the protagonists - none of which we as audience members had seen before.

But aside from a few small changes, the film remains essentially the same, the same emotions, beliefs and morals are there to be understood by the viewer.

It was worth the wait... or was it?
